Albert J. Kozar, DO, FAOASM, R-MSK, has 19 years experience as a specialist in Sports Medicine and ONMM. In 2007, he was named a Fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine (AOASM) and in 2011, he was in the inaugural class of physicians to become certified as a registered musculoskeletal sonographer by ARDMS.
In 2015, he left private practice and started the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) ONMM3 Residency, where he serves as the Program Director and an Associate Professor in OMM & Sports Medicine and assists in the care of Virginia Tech Athletics.
Dr. Kozar is a frequently requested national lecturer in his interests of functional rehabilitative approaches, diagnostic and therapeutic MSK ultrasound, osteopathic medicine, and regenerative therapies.
Since 2009, Dr. Kozar has taught diagnostic and cadaver injection ultrasound courses with MSKUS both nationally & internationally. Prior to 2015, he was in private practice with Valley Sports Physicians in Avon, CT and was a Team Physician for The University of Hartford, WWE, local US Figure Skaters, dance troupes & high schools.
