Hulse, DO: The five phenomena of osteopathy in the cranial field will be reviewed with how these phenomena fit in the context of more general knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the body and central nervous system, and how new imaging technologies give us more insight into our palpatory findings.
10:00-11:30 a.m. Workshop - "Introduction to Osteopathy in the Cranial Field," Annette E. Hulse, DO: The cranial concept is an expansion of traditional osteopathic approaches which involves working with the internal forces within the body including inherent movements of the central nervous system, the cerebral spinal fluid, and the surrounding dura and its influence on bones, especially the cranial bones and the sacrum. The primary respiratory mechanism (PRM) and five phenomena of cranial osteopathy will be discussed. The breakout session will explore perception provide students with the opportunity to practice different approaches to perceive the PRM.
